Islamorada | Tavernier Public Boat Launch Ramps
Where can you launch your boat around Islamorada / Tavernier Florida Keys? If you bring your boat to this area, there are two public ramps.
IF you are bringing your boat and staying at a vacation rental or condo, check launch access directly with them. There are several neighborhoods which have their own private community launch ramp. Condos have a lot of rules so be sure to ask all the questions to ensure you may utilize the onsite ramps, IF you can leave your trailer there, and if you are allowed to wash your boat etc.
Founders Park Boat Launch - MM87 - Islamorada
Within "Islamorada" on Plantation Key is Founders Park located at MM 87 with address of 87000 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL.
This ramp is a bit of a challenge with NO dock poles to tie to when launching and pulling. The ramp in Tavernier Harry Harris Park (below) is our choice unless conditions are too windy. Also, best to pull your boat out at HIGH tide at Founders Park.
- Founders Park Boat Launch Ramp Hours: 8 am. to 6 pm. daily.
- Free access for Islamorada Residents. Must show a valid I.D.
- Non-Village Resident Ramp Use Fee: $25 each way ($50 round trip).
Harry Harris Park Boat Launch - MM93 - Tavernier
In "Tavernier" off MM 93 off of Burton Drive (traffic light) with boat ramp street address of 50 E Beach Rd, Tavernier, FL offers one dock with two nice cement ramps at Harry Harris Park. This dock was redone just a couple of years ago. The ramp is exposed to the Atlantic, so check the winds as you could encounter waves coming into the launch.
There are also bathrooms, playground, beach, and picnic tables located here!
Weekdays, it has been our experience there is "not" usually a guard to charge you to park / launch at Harry Harris Tavernier boat ramp. Here is a list of fees as of March 2025:
Vehicle Fees: Admission fees for Harry Harris Park will be $15 per vehicle.
Boat Ramp Fees: In addition to the $15 vehicle fee, all vehicles with watercraft vessel trailers are subject to the following fees:
- On Monroe County non-holiday weekends, the boat ramp fees for Harry Harris Park shall be $40.
